Finished the entire front half. Now it’s just the tunnel at the back that houses the rear axle and diff then it’s back off the rotisserie and onto the chassis to gap the doors! Taking a while though. Whoever undersealed the underside of this car did a damn good job of it!

I’ve also got the reinforcing mesh in place, and the shuttering finished on my parts shed base.

Needs to be finished soon as I’ve just bought a thoroughly rotten bodyshell from a Mk2 GT6 :S It looks pretty much beyond economical repair (look at the floor pans and the end of the sills). The plan with this is to transplant the roof onto my yellow Spitfire and kind of meld the two rear end designs together to make a GT6 lift-back :)

your shed looks a little uneven, an issue?

bottom of the spit looks fantastic all shiny! I’m guessing that is the result of HOOOUUUURRRRSSS of work?

It’s on sloping ground which is an issue. I originally planned on hijacking a digger that we had hired for a week to level it, but things got in the way.

So now I’ve got a levelled out 9'x27' rectangle which is nice and flat, and then a triangle attached to it which rises along with the ground on the underside.

Not ideal, but it’s not going to be a working garage or anything nice. It’s just meant to be a half-decent place to store things out of the elements.

Believe it or not the underside’s only take ~4 hours so far. That sounds like a lot, but it took be a hell of a lot longer to do the chassis. The reason it’s taken a lot less time is I’ve discovered the wonders of angle-grinder mounted wire wheels. So much quicker than my previous drill-mounted ones (although they are still useful to get into tight areas).

well as a plus side, your storage shed is likely to have excellent drainage! a real plus :D
